Shirley Ann Serenko

Shirley Ann Serenko, Age 71 of Alexandria, MN passed away August 29, 2015 after a massive stroke. Shirley was born August 8th, 1944 in Center, ND. The daughter of Philip and Helen (Schaner) Mosbrucker. Shirley was united in marriage to Douglas Serenko May 10, 1962 at St. Anne’s Church in Bismarck, ND. Shirley left no dust to settle beneath her while on earth. She managed Serenko Homes, Inc. doing payroll, bookkeeping, painting and staining alongside her husband, Doug. She was a true believer in stand by your man. Shirley also worked during tax season for the ND State Tax Department. For a period of time Shirley sold real-estate. Shirley ventured into a couple multi-level marketing programs throughout the years. Shirley found new wings after her husband retired. She owned and operated a successful daycare, giving her the opportunity to watch granddaughter Sarah who brought so much joy to her life. Shirley’s next venture would bring her to Wilton, ND where she built, owned and operated Wildwood Greenhouses, growing the best hydroponic tomatoes around. Living in Wilton brought her closer to her to grandchildren Guy and Shelby, who too brought her so much joy and happiness. Upon retiring Shirley and Doug ventured on to Fargo, ND, further to Pick City, ND where she enjoyed gardening, landscaping and fishing on the big lake. Eventually moving back to Bismarck, and then settling in Alexandria, MN bringing them closer to their children and grandchildren. Shirley was strong in her faith and had strong beliefs, one of her mottos was “You either stand for something or you stand for nothing.” Shirley’s hobbies included gardening, archery, hunting, and fishing, she excelled at all and often times the fellow sportsman had a challenge keeping up with her. Prior to Shirley’s passing she had such joy and excitement in knowing she would soon become Great Grandma to Baby Girl Nupdal. She is survived by her husband Doug Serenko. Daughter, Shelly Grimm (Bill), Hector, MN, Son, Paul Serenko (Amy), Gwinner, ND, Daughter Lisa Barry (Steve), Fargo, ND, Granddaughter, Sarah Barry Nupdal (Nick), Bismarck, ND, Grandson, Guy Serenko, Gwinner ND, Granddaughter, Shelby Serenko, Gwinner, ND, Step-Granddaughters: Sondra Grimm, Glenco, MN, Tiffany Grimm-Egge, Shakopee, MN, Belinda Grimm, Shakopee, MN, Siblings: Darlene Littke, Horace, ND, Richard Mosbrucker, TX, Carol Ereth (Jerry), Graham, WA, Franklin Mosbrucker (Gail), Cleveland TX. Along with several nieces and nephews, and very special grand dog, Parker. She will join deceased, parents Philip and Helen Mosbrucker, and brother James Mosbrucker.
