Ruth E. Kellogg

Ruth E. Kellogg age 76 of Miltona died on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her home. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM on Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:30 – 3:00 PM before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Leaf Valley First Responders or Lakes Area Humane Society. OBITUARY Ruth Elizabeth Kellogg was born on July 9, 1939 in Hardwick, Vermont to Lester and Ruth (Clement) Fuller and was one of nine children. She graduated from Searles High School in Great Barrington, MA in 1958. Ruth got married on November 22, 1958 to Franklin Kellogg in Great Barrington, MA. To this union the couple was blessed with one daughter, Sharon. Ruth worked as a store clerk and various jobs. In the late 1960’s Ruth got a divorce and moved to Detroit, MI to establish a home for her daughter along with special friend, Carol Keresztes. Ruth worked various factory jobs and worked at John Christian Binders as manager and retired after working there for 15 years. In April of 2013, Ruth moved to her daughter, Sharon’s home in rural Miltona. Ruth loved electronics, gadgets, and flying remote control planes. She loved playing softball and managing softball teams as well as being an avid bowler. Ruth enjoyed nature and designing flower gardens. She loved her dogs and cats, birds and all animals. Ruth also loved throwing barbecues for her friends and co-workers. You could also find her riding motorcycles, pulling a 5th wheel camper from Michigan to Massachusetts to Minnesota, going to the casino and eating out. She really enjoyed her trip to Ireland and Italy with a church group from Massachusetts. Ruth died on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her daughter’s home at the age of 76. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Dick) Hadash of Miltona; brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters. A memorial service was held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with Father Steve Binsfeld officiating. Honorary urn bearers were Carol Keresztes and Grace Rockefeller.
