Kyle Beilke Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kyle K. Beilke ?Believe and act as if it were impossible to fail.? (Charles F. Kettering) Kyle Kevin Beilke was born on November 24, 1987, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Kevin and Kelly (Emmons) Beilke. The family moved to Marshall, Minnesota in 1989, and in 1993 moved to Alexandria, Minnesota. Kyle attended school in Alexandria and graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in 2006. He later attended the University of North Dakota and Alexandria Technical College. Kyle enjoyed all forms of amateur and professional sports; Vikings football, Twins baseball, Wild & Sioux hockey and Wolves basketball. His true sports love, however, was soccer. Kyle both played and coached soccer for many years, and was the Central Lakes Conference ?All-Conference Goalie? his Senior year. As an infant, Kyle had the first of three heart surgeries. Kyle had additional heart surgeries at ages 15 and 19. Following his surgery at age 19 he was advised not to play soccer any longer. His soccer passion continued on as an assistant varsity coach for the Alexandria Cardinals. He also coached youth for the Alexandria Area Soccer Association and Lakes Area Recreation soccer programs. Kyle?s other passions included fishing and snowmobiling. He especially enjoyed fishing at his Grandpa?s, trips to Walt Disney World with his Aunt Kerry, and going to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to go snowmobiling with his dad. Kyle Beilke passed away on May 22, 2010 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 22 after a two-year battle that started with severe pancreatitis. Through it all he maintained a positive mental attitude no matter the circumstances, and was an inspiration of strength and courage to all who were blessed to know him. He is survived by his parents Kevin and Kelly Beilke of Alexandria; sister Katelyn Beilke of Brooklyn Park; grandparents Russell Emmons of Alexandria and Jim and DeeVee Beilke of Alexandria; aunts and uncles Todd and Sandy Emmons of Alexandria, Kerry and Dennis Anhalt of Alexandria, and Keith and Sue Beilke of Alexandria; cousins Alex Emmons, Bill Infanger (Amy, Isaac & Hunter), Jana Infanger and Reed Beilke; nephew Kameron Nuriddin, and his cat, Abby. Kyle was preceded in death by his grandmother LuAnn Emmons. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 28, 2010, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Minnesota, with Rev. Mark Astrup officiating. The Calvary Lutheran Praise Band provided music. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria, Minnesota, with Bryce Brickweg, Dan Hedstrom, David Crowe, Ben Thompson, Mike Rentz, Tom Maloney, Jason Nomsen, Devin Polson and Wes Thompson serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers were Michelle King, Megan Langseth, Kristi DiNello and all of Kyle?s soccer coaches, teammates, and players.
