Harold "Corky" Wagner

Harold Wagner, age 76, of Parkers Prairie, died Thursday, May 21, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Nicholas Church in Belle River. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home.. OBITUARY HAROLD ‘CORKY’ WAGNER Harold Wagner died peacefully at St. William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie on May 21, 2015 at the age of seventy six years.. Harold was born on March 24, 1939 in Bertha, MN to Louise (Rutten) and Bernard Wagner. He was the youngest of three children. He grew up farming with his mom and dad and continued farming even after the passing of his father in 1963. Harold love threshing and filling the silos. In 1971 Harold was united in marriage to Dixie Treischel. They had three children together and four step-children. In 1974 they purchased the Hewitt Municipal Liquor Store and ran it for ten years. Harold enjoyed entertaining people and making them laugh with his endless stories. He spent a lot of time socializing, golfing and fishing with all of the kids. Later Harold briefly worked on a ranch in Nevada; he said it was his most favorite job! After he moved back to Minnesota he worked at many jobs doing carpentry, painting and working at Bethany Home. After retiring Harold spent time fishing, mowing the church grounds, growing raspberries and entertaining friends. He loved playing cards, going to his hunting cabin near Two Harbors and watching sports. Harold is survived by seven children, Stacey Shields of Elletsville, IN, Greg Wagner of Burnsville, MN, Gretchen Wagner of Chicago, IL, Jackie Notch of Alexandria, MN, Jamie Treischel of Alexandria, Janelle Loghry of Council Bluffs, IA and John Treischel of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Donna Mae Anderson and husband, Warren, of Maple Grove, MN and Jeanette Lovell and husband, Don, of Seattle, WA; one grandson, Doug Shields; and eight nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his mother and father; and his grandparents. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Nicholas Church in Belle River, MN. Reverend Father Dave Petron was the celebrant. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers included Dennis Hilmer, Tom Steidl, Tim Zunker, Doug Froemming, Bob Longfellow, Dwayne Waldorf, Leonard Hintzen, Eugene Hauer, Ted Steidl and Steve Meinert. Arrangements were with Anderson Funeral Home.
