Donna Loveland Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donna Whelan was born August 8, 1949 in Graceville, MN the daughter of James and Theresa (Guenther) Whelan. Donna was raised in Alexandria, MN where she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967. Donna worked at various jobs following her schooling. She was a hard worker and she made a special effort to educate herself about the business world. She worked as a purchasing manager. In 2005 Donna retired from Empi, Inc., a medical supply company. Donna loved spending time outdoors. She enjoyed going fishing and watching the birds. She liked to garden vegetables and flowers. On March 14, 2009 Donna died at the age of fifty-nine years. She is survived by her husband, Donald Harker of Osakis; one daughter, Lorie Lessard and husband, Andrew, of Coon Rapids, MN; two grandchildren, Cory and Sarah Lessard; three step-children, Rick Harker and wife, Lynn, of Plymouth, MN, Scott Harker of Cambridge, MN and Jill Anderson and husband, Steve, of Big Lake, MN; six step-grandchildren; three brothers, John Whelan and wife, Ann, of Richfield, MN, Jerome Whelan and wife, Nona, of Golden Valley, MN and Michael Whelan and wife, Elaine, of Lakeville, MN; two sisters, Colleen Dierckes and husband, Robert, of Sauk Centre, MN and Pat Kvanbek of Evansville, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, March 20, 2009 at St. Mary?s Church in Alexandria. Rev. Fr. Steve Binsfeld will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Casket bearers include Rick Harker, Chris Whelan, Jeff Whelan, Cory Lessard, Scott Harker, Greg Kvanbek and Brad Kvanbek. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at church. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
