Carol Goodin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carol Ann Johnson was born January 18, 1942 in Milaca, MN, the daughter of Andrew and Bernice (Bakken) Johnson. She lived in Milaca until age twelve and then moved with her family to Minneapolis. Following her graduation from high school she worked for Hennepin County. On February 22, 1966 Carol was united in marriage to Robert Goodin. The couple made their home in Minneapolis until 1972 when they moved to Brooklyn Park. They were blessed with two children, Heidi and Robert, Jr. In 1990 Carol and Bob moved to Lake Cowdry near Alexandria. In 1998 they moved to their current home on Pocket Lake near Lowry, MN. Carol belonged to a group of women that met to do craftwork. She enjoyed cross-stitch and sewing. She also did scrap booking. Carol like to go traveling and camping with her family. Much of Carol?s time was spent caring for her daughter, Heidi. Carol also volunteered her time to the Special Olympics and to the Douglas County Hospital. On Monday, April 19, 2010 Carol died at home with her family and friends by her side at the age of sixty-eight years. Her parents preceded her in death. Carol is survived by her husband, Robert of Lowry; one daughter, Heidi Goodin of Alexandria, MN; one son Robert Goodin, Jr. of Osceola, WI; one Sister, Betty Coker of Mobile, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Carol?s family wishes to recognize and thank the Oncology Department at the Douglas County Hospital and the Douglas County Hospice for all of the personal care and friendship provided to Carol and her family. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, April 23, 2010 at Anderson Funeral Home. Reverend Richard Bahe will officiate. Interment will follow in the Van Loon Cemetery near Holmes City. Honorary pallbearers include Lance Bowyer, Joe Goodin, Kim Goodin, Todd Goodin, Angie Hunter and Kristi Bowyer. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
