Allen Keith Krull

Allen Keith Krull was born on October 28, 1944 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of Edward “Dutch” and Ila (Price) Krull. Allen grew up in Thompson, IA and graduated high school in Lake Mills, IA. He enlisted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he attained his Sharp Shooter medal. After the war Allen came back home to farm. He married Pat Zobel on July 9th, 1966. Together they lived in Albert Lea, MN for a short period of time and had four boys, Curtis, Jake, Jarett, and Nick. In 1980 Allen and his family moved to Osakis. He worked in the maintenance department at Bethany Home for about a year but always continued with his love of farming. Allen began driving semi for Carlson Trucking of Parkers Prairie. He then bought his own truck and hauled sugar beets and potatoes for farmers and also bridges for the Continental Bridge Company all over the United States. Allen married Donna Hiebel in 1984 in Alexandria, MN. Together they had one daughter Amanda and had lived in Parkers Prairie for the last 24 years. Allen fought with his Parkingson for over 20 years, yet he continued to be an excellent target and trap shooter as well as an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting as well as pheasant hunting in Iowa. Allen always had a thing for his fast cars and wheelchairs, racing down Main Street or down the hallway at Bethany Home. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Allen K. Krull died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Bethany Home in Alexandria at the age of 71 years old. He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Krull (Jordan Halverson) of Garfield; sons, Curtis (Bonnie) Krull of Carlos, Jake (Kathleen) Krull of Red Wing, Jarett (Rebecca) Krull of Swaledale, IA, and Nick (Gail) Krull of Eagen; step-children Anna (Will) LeBlanc of Mt. Vernon, WA and Matt (Alicia) Hvezda of Forada; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother Gary (Jean) Krull of Thompson, IA; sister Mary Green of Forrest City, IA; family friend Terry Storey of St. Cloud, and former spouse Donna Krull of Parkers Prairie. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Donald Krull. A Memorial service was held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Scott Keehn officiating. Inurnment was in the Lake Mary Cemetery. Military Honors were accorded by American Legion Post #87, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #936, Vietnam Veteran of America Chapter #235, and the Minnesota National Guard.
